No two dogs are the same, and while we use
many of the same training techniques for most dogs,
the exact program we use for yours is completely
customized to your needs and the personality of
your dog. Because of this, our first step is to
provide you with a free evaluation and training
consultation so that we can work together to
determine the best program for your dog.
Most often, we suggest in-board training at our
peaceful country facility. In-board training
removes the burden and frustrations of training
from you and allows us to work with your dog
multiple times in each day, rather than in one or
two at-home lessons each week. If your dog has any
bad habits, removing the dog from the environment
in which these habits occur often make it easier to
break the habits, and we then reintroduce the dog
to your home with a new set of skills and a new
behavior pattern. Once we have completed the
in-board training, we work with you and your family
members in three follow-up lessons to show you how
to communicate with your dog and get the full
benefit from their new skills.
For in-board training, your dog will be boarded and trained on our beautiful 24-acre farm with shady woods and gently rolling pastures. Dogs spend the majority of their days in training and, weather permitting, enjoying the fresh country air in covered runs or fenced fields. All dogs sleep in the safety of an individual crate in a climate-controlled environment just a few steps from our home.
Dog pickup, drop off, and follow-up lessons are by appointment only.
Dos. Please send your dog to us wearing a flat collar with identification and rabies tags on it. To ensure digestive health, send your dog with its regular food in a non-returnable labeled container. Please include extra food; your dog will likely be getting extra exercise and we may need to increase its food intake during its visit with us. If you forget to bring your dog's food or do not bring enough, we will provide food at an additional cost.
Don'ts. Please do not send your dog with any bedding or toys during their stay. We will provide bedding, toys, treats, and training equipment for your dog.
